 vinced that love carries more weight than parental authority, humbles himse
 lf and pleads with Violetta to end the relationship that is harming his son
  so much. She manages to convince the old man of her sincerity &amp; love, 
 and, making a sacrifice for the benefit of her loved one, abandons the hous
 e having written a frivolous farewell note. Alfredo, disenchanted with her 
 deception, confronts &amp; offends Violetta publicly, resulting in his fath
 er then explaining of her great love for him. Alfredo goes to see Violetta 
 to ask forgiveness. She is extremely ill with only a few hours to live, and
  they spend these recalling the fond memories of their love together.</p><p
