  film-maker Márta Mészáros (Budapest, 1931), whose fil
 ms have recently been restored by the Hungarian National Film Institute so 
 that the current viewer can enjoy in all its splendour the characters that 
 feature in the work of this director who in her day was rated by the presti
 gious magazine Film Comment as “an arsenal of film resources&rdq
 uo;.\n\n\n“DIARIO PARA MIS PADRES” (DIARY FOR MY MOTHER & F
 ATHER)(1990)\n\n\nSynopsis \n\n\nOctober 1956. Juli is unable to retur
 n to Hungary from Moscow because the borders arte closed. The Soviets have 
 invaded Budapest and deposed the Prime Minister Imre Nagy. János par
 ticipates actively in these events. When Juli finally returns, she tries to
  immortalize everything that is happening. She escapes to Austria with J&aa
 cute;nos fearing for their lives, but in the end decide to go back and is b
 rutally executed by hanging.\n\n\nEntrance tickets for ‘Filmoteca Can
